    Bill,

Emmanuel is a great trainer but I’m not so sure he’s a full-time trainer anymore (as you alluded to). I’d give a lot more credit to Javan “Sugar” Hill and the other trainers at Kronk who are there everyday (especially in regards to guys like Bundridge and Lee - who Emmanuel didn’t even work with for the McEwen fight). Both Emmanuel and Freddie are great trainers who make a difference with fighters. I think Freddie is a little more dedicated at this point.

Oh and Neubrandenburg (where Cunningham is fighting) is an armpit in the former East Germany where there’s maybe one good bar - that has all of the old Commie paraphenalia still on the walls.

Hey guys, Great Podcast. Just discovered this on ESPN, and I’m hooked, in spite of the endless history lessons and all.

Point of Contention: Mayweather is ducking Manny. I totally disagree with this premise, and hope that you can give this topic some airtime on the next show.

Supporting Facts: After Mayweather fought Hatton; and Manny destroyed Cotto, there were negotiations in place to make this fight happen. Floyd agreed to a 50/50 split, which by the way is no mere feat. Manny could not agree to a blood test. This is not heresy; these are facts, now 2 odd years later he does not have a problem taking the test. He compromised on a stance that was a deal breaker 2 year earlier, and gets no dissension for this.

Since December 2008, Manny will have fought 7 times (including Marquez), to Mayweather’s thrice. Your theory goes that “Floyd ducking Manny” to fight lesser fighters to make $30 Million per/fight. He fought one…two… three-fighters. Meanwhile, there is no dissension to the plethora of bums; Manny has fought in this time span. Even more, can you riddle me “Who stands to benefit the most from Manny fighting every 6-7 months generating about $20-25 Millions?” Manny will continue this trend and fight two more times in 2012, yet non of his opponents will offer any test, but there is no dissension.

Manny is Bob Arum’s prize jewel, one he long envied Don King and Richard Schafer for. Arum will not allow his prize to get tainted with a lost, for a additional $10 Million from one fight. He stands to and has gained financially more from throwing Pacquaio in the ring every 5 months for the last 3 years and while generating a minimum of $15 million/fight for his company. This is classic Sleazebag Promoter 101.

This “Super Fight” will not happen because of boxing journalists’ derision of Mayweather, who will find reasons to lay blame at his feet even when it is blatantly obvious. It should be your journalistic oath to seek out the truth and confront it, not reiterate Bob Arum’s talking points. Until you and your peers in the boxing media do such, Arum will continue to hide behind this fallacy that “Mayweather is ducking Manny”.
