Gave only 4 stars because it was nearly 2 HOURS LONG. I mean, you guys are great, but it’s a real commitment to get through the whole thing. When you guys were doing 1 hour shows, it felt about right.
That said, always great to hear Nigel. Would love to hear Kim, Bernstein, or Bang Bang Lampley again soon.

Adam, your point about the length is duly noted. We usually aim for about an hour and 20 minutes, but sometimes we just can’t contain our blather. Especially when there’s a guest, it tends to run longer. In any case, I’m curious for other listeners’ opinions. Do others agree this is “too long”? Or do people feel the more we give them, the better?
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Kim to come on the show. We like our listeners too much to do that to them. But perhaps Al or Lamps will be on again soon.

I just want to counter the above point and say that I ENJOY the longer shows as I find you guys can address more topics. If someone doesn’t like the length they can skip through. For 2X a month, I think the length is just fine. This is still the best boxing podcast I know.

Does Adam also complain when he gets extra McNuggets or gratuitous nudity in a Mila Kunis movie? Like my prom date told me, “sorry, but longer is always better.” Personally I enjoy the lengthier episodes of RT with a few unplanned tangents. Sometimes that’s where the best parts of the episode occur.
Not to sound like a dick toward Adam, it just seemed odd to complain about is all. I mean if you have to, at this point in the year you can whittle the show down by skipping Quick Picks if you’re rooting for Bill.
I do agree that Bernstein and Lampley are always fascinating on the show, but for Steve Kim as a guest, I recommend pulling up a podcast or two at MaxBoxing — that’ll change your mind. Best scenario is Kim comes on a duel guest show with Dan “The Biggest Croc of Them All” Rafael. I’d pay the $30 for that alone.
As for my guest wish list, I just wish Eric would have taken a page from 80’s sitcoms and played along with the whole Jim Bagg thing — using an obvious fake voice while interviewing himself as the guest, hoping we wouldn’t notice. That or more Max Kellerman.

Hey Eric,
I didn’t know where else to post this but do you know why I can’t play or download any podcasts earlier than July 2011. I began my subscription recently but I was really hoping to listen to some of the earlier podcasts but none of them seem to work? When I attempt to download it comes up as an HTML file, rather than mp3.

Hi Ethan,
We only have so much storage space on the site, so some of the older podcasts have been deleted. Anything within the past year or so, you should be able to access. But beyond that, we have to delete some every so often to make room for new shows.
