Great episode of Ring Theory. Just a few thoughts:

I think Bill was spot on with his comments. How sad is our society when even mention of an ethnicity (or failing to put the “-American” suffix on an ethnic group) makes someone a racist monster. Lampley’s PC police segment was oddly out of place — and who is to say that HBO didn’t edit it to remove any points Garcia may have made. I’m sure the Real Time with Bill Maher audience would eat a segment like that up — but it seemed out of place for a Championship Boxing segment.

As for Danny Garcia, I’m still a bit puzzled at those making him an elite fighter (aside from The RING — who didn’t even get mention of their “title” by the HBO team). I think Eric is right, in that Khan likely wins 8 out of 10 times against Garcia. Danny was losing rounds clearly and at one point he looked to have let Khan back in to the round in the 4th before a grazing shot stopped Mr. Stanky Legs Khan. Great story, I never mind seeing Khan decked, and maybe the punch wasn’t as lucky as it seems, but Garcia doesn’t stay unbeaten at this level for long.

Speaking of Broner jokes, I don’t know how nobody has jumped on the obvious joke when HBO did a 2-Days segment with Adrian. Something along the lines of — “If your Broner lasts for longer than a day, please contact a physician.” It’s probably better to leave the comedy to Bill and Eric.

    Nice podcast, very entertaining.

Thanks, Chaz. Don’t sell yourself short, your Broner crack made me LOL. If you’d like to write jokes for as an unpaid intern, just let us know.
